The eastern Massachusetts region offers a wealth of resources to educators, both in the form of institutions established specifically for the purpose of facilitating the education process through teacher education and in the form of a multitude of museums and galleries capable of enhancing the quality of education received by area students.

Many of these centers, museums, and galleries do not limit the scope of their interest to the Eastern Massachusetts area, or even the Northeastern United States, but rather devote themselves to the improvement of education at a national level. Specifically, many of the region's museums are of world class quality and the educational benefits realized by exposing students to their collections are very well worth the educator's effort to do so.

Below is a compliation of various Eastern Massachusetts institutions of interest to educators that has been partitioned two different ways. The first is a list of local museums, while the second catalogs local teaching outreach centers from which educators may borrow, or otherwise exploit previously unavailable resources.

Many of these various organizations have made information regarding their collections and activities available on the Internet and the World History Resource Center has provided links to the web pages associated to many of the folowing organizations with the hope that such information will be of use. Names of contact individuals are also provided in most instances.
