A seven-day workshop to prepare trainers for introducing the new AP World History course to teachers around the nation, funded by the College Board. Staff: Patrick Manning, Deborah Johnston, Julie Gauthier, guest speakers.

"World History at Lexington High" - Lexington Public Schools
23 participants 
A four-day workshop for teachers at Lexington High School, supported by Lexington Public Schools funds. Staff: Deborah Johnston, Julie Gauthier, Patrick Manning. 

October 1999 - November 1999 "World History for Grade 10" - Northeast Alliance, Mass. Department of Education 
14 participants 
A four-day workshop for teachers from the Northeast Alliance of High School Teachers, supported by the Mass. DOE. Staff: Patrick Manning, James Diskant. 

March 9, 1999 
"Interactive Technology in World History: the Migration CD" - Mass. CUE 
Expected participation: 10 
Two-hour workshop for Social Studies teachers in Mass. Computer-using Educators. Staff: Patrick Manning. 

September 1998 - May 1999
"World History for Grade 9." - Center for Leadership Development, Boston Public Schools 
18 participants 
Eleven afternoon workshops for teachers in the Boston Public Schools during the 1998-99 school year, supported by the Center for Leadership Development. Staff: Patrick Manning, Julie Gauthier, guest speakers. 

December 1998 - February 1999.
"World History for Grade 9." - Northeast Alliance, Mass. Department of Education 
20 participants 
A five-day workshop supported by Mass DOE, for teachers in the Northeast Alliance of High School Teachers. Teaching units were the end result. Graduate credit available (1 credit). Staff: Patrick Manning, Julie Gauthier, guest speakers. 

September 1998 - June 1999. 
"World History at Dorchester High" - Boston Annenberg Challenge 12 participants 
Professional Development in world history for teachers at Dorchester High in Boston, during the 1998-99 school year. This was supported by a grant from the Boston Annenberg Challenge. A world history teacher scholar was in residence at the high school for much of the year providing teachers with curriculum and material support. Staff: Patrick Manning, Whitney Howarth, Robert Mitchell.
